This study examined the relationship between social media addiction and depression among 100 adolescents at Maryam High School, Surabaya, using a quantitative correlational design. Data were collected with the SMAS-SF and BDI-II and analyzed through simple linear regression in JASP. Results showed a significant positive relationship between social media addiction and depression (r = 0.615, p < 0.001), with social media addiction explaining 36% of the variance in depression levels (R² = 0.360). Higher addiction scores were associated with increased depressive symptoms. These findings highlight the importance of school-based interventions to promote digital well-being and adolescent mental health.
