Abstract

This study analyzes the role of the language environment Bi'ah Lughawiyah in enhancing Arabic language skills at Darul Fikri Islamic Boarding School Sidoarjo.The research uses a descriptive qualitative method,with data collected through interviews,observation,and documentation.The research subjects were a female student,an Arabic teacher,and a student from the language division of the student council.The findings indicate that Darul Fikri Islamic Boarding School consistently implements an Arabic language use policy in various school areas,including classrooms,themosque,and other school areas.New students in 7th grade and 10th grade are given leniency to use a mix of Indonesian and Arabic to help them adapt.They are also provided with facilities such as posters with Arabic vocabulary placed in every corner of the room.This language environment has proven to be very effective in developing the four basic Arabic language skills:maharahistima',maharahkalam,maharahqira'ah,and maharahkitabah.Darul Fikri Islamic Boarding School has successfully created an ecosystem that supports the comprehensive acquisition of the Arabic language.
