Abstract

This research aims to improve children’s speaking skills at KB’Aisyiyah 8 Putat. The research subjects were 12 children aged 3-4 years at KB’Aisyiyah 8 Putat. This research uses a type of classroom action research wiyh a spiral model from Kemmis and Tagart with the following stages, planning, action, observation ang reflection. Based on the results of data processing and analysis obtained from the field, the initial condition of children's speaking abilities is very low with a presentation of 0.00% in the pre-cycle. The results of research using the storytelling method using wayang expression media in cycle I increased with a percentage of 57.29%. In cycle II, the percentage increase in children's speaking ability reached 81.25%. Based on this, it can be concluded that the use of storytelling method activities using puppet expression media is very effective in improving children's speaking abilities.
