Abstract

OME TV's social media currently has more users than Generation Z. Generation Z are people born between 1995 and 2010. This study aims to describe the self-openness or self-openness of Gen Z in OME TV media and the role played by the self-openness of Gen Z. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method and uses purposive sampling techniques as well as observation, interviews, and documentation. The self-disclosure theory developed by Sidney Marshall Jaourard was used in this study. This study resulted in the conclusion that Gen Z Self Disclosure on OME TV media tends to have affective and descriptive characteristics, and that its function is to build and develop friendship relationships.
