Abstract

IAA AMO is a manufacturing industry engaged in aircraft maintenance. The problem faced is the reliability of the GPU machine which is low at 86%, this can cause an increase in the company's operational costs. This research uses the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method which is used as a reference for identifying the causes of damage and the effects resulting from the damage by determining the critical value of the component, namely the largest Risk Priority Number (RPN). Apart from that, the Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of these components are calculated to minimize the occurrence of breakdwn and downtime. The aim of this research is to optimize the use of GPUs in aircraft maintenance to minimize breakdowns by using the FMEA method.
