Building a Philanthropic Character in Students: A Case Study on the Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah Studies Course

This research aims to examine the relationship between students' understanding and involvement in Al-Islam and
Muhammadiyah (AIK) courses and their philanthropic attitudes. The research method uses Pearson correlation
analysis and multiple linear regression to examine data collected from 230 student respondents. The results of the
correlation analysis show that all indicators of the AIK variable have a positive and significant relationship with
indicators of students' philanthropic attitudes, with the strongest correlation between understanding the concept of
philanthropy in Islam and the perception of the importance of philanthropic activities (r = 0.50, p < 0.01). The results
of multiple linear regression show that all independent variables (AIK knowledge, AIK understanding, and AIK
involvement) have a significant positive influence on students' philanthropic attitudes (positive regression coefficient,
p < 0.05). The regression model used was also significant overall (F = 15.67, p < 0.01).
