Fostering the Discipline of Students in a Humanistic Manner at An-Nur Boarding School

Disciplinary education of students is the key to the success of pesantren institutions in producing superior and devoted generations of Muslims. Increasing discipline in boarding schools should be done by appreciating students in the form of rewards for students who obey the rules. However, the disciplinary process in pesantren often uses violence such as beatings or physical punishment in the form of push-ups, scout-jumps. Whereas the purpose of discipline in pesantren is to maintain discipline at all times so that students do not commit or repeat violations. Therefore, how to realize santri discipline awareness can be achieved through humanistic education, namely always fostering good behavior and mutual respect between fellow humans. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. This research is expected to contribute to improving the quality of student discipline coaching at An-Nur Islamic Boarding School and other boarding schools.
