Abstract

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a neuropathy condition in the upper extremities caused by compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. CTS causes symptoms such as pain and decreased functional ability of the hand. The purpose of this study is to determine the benefits of Median Nerve Mobilization Techniques in reducing pain and improving hand functional abilities in CTS patients. This research is in the form of a case study research with a descriptive-analytical method. The research instruments were the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) for pain measurement and the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire (BCTQ) for measuring hand functional ability. The study results showed that the administration of Median Nerve Mobilization Techniques can reduce pain and improve the functional ability of the hands in patients with CTS. The study can conclude that Median Nerve Mobilization Techniques are beneficial in reducing pain and improving hand functional ability in CTS patients.
