Abstract

PT. Java Pacific is a steel factory that requires a centrifugal pump between bearings to circulate cooling water in the engine gearbox in the production machine. This research aims to compare theoretical calculations with the actualization that occurs for the 6311 bearing in the centrifugal pump between bearings. Comparisons are made based on the service life of the bearing compared to the actual conditions that occur in the field. This difference will be used as a basis for creating a preventive maintenance plan (preventative maintenance) that focuses on predicting bearing replacement. Centrifugal pumps are a type of dynamic pump with an impeller that converts mechanical energy from the pump into speed energy. Unexpected damage in the field is a common problem, one of the damages to centrifugal pumps between bearings is in the bearing section.
