Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of role playing method on poetry reading skills in elementary school students. This study used the Pre-Exsperimental Design quantitative research method of this type of experiment One Group Pretest-Posttest Desingn. The student population at SD Negeri Gedangan, Gedangan District, Sidoarjo Regency in class IV B, which amounted to 20 students, began with a prestest and then was given treatment or medicine, after that the postest and tested for validity using T-test statistics, Paired Sample T-Test using spss 26. can be concluded that there is an influence of the Role Playing method on poetry reading skills. Before the existence of this method, the average score obtained by students reading poetry was 63.4 After the method, the average score of students reading poetry increased significantly with an average score of 81.7 so that students are complete.
