Abstract

PT.XYZ is a company that operates in the boiler chicken slaughter house sector. Based on daily reports, the number of defects found in griller products shows a percentage of up to 30%. The aim of this research is to analyze the types of defects found in the griller so that repair alternatives can be determined. To solve the problem, the Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methods are used because they can identify the most dominant types of defects in the product and look for the causes so that they can provide suggestions for improvements to minimize the number of existing defects. The results of this research showed that the most dominant type of defect was feathers still remaining on the carcass with the highest RPN value, namely 175. Feather defects still remaining on the carcass were caused by workers not following the SOP correctly.
