The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the difficulty factor of grade VIII students of SMP Speam Kota Pasuruan reading Arabic texts. This research is descriptive qualitative. The population of this study amounted to 18 students. The sample used for this study was 3 people. His research instruments are observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the difficulty factor of grade 8 students in reading Arabic text can be divided into two factors. First, internal factors are students' experience in learning Arabic, students' language skills, lack of interest in reading and low student motivation. Second, external factors include the student environment, less attractive learning methods, and lack of learning media used.
