Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between social support and academic stress, and how effective social support will be in resolving academic stress among boarding school students.The participants of this study were all students of madrasah aliyah boarding school Ar-Raudatul Ilmiyah Kertosono which amounted to 229 out of a total of 240 students. Determination of the sample using simple random sampling, namely randomly selecting members of the entire population. The independent variable (X) in this study is social support, while the dependent variable (Y) in this study is academic stress. Preparation of items using a Likert scale. Data analysis techniques using SPSS with Kolmogrov-Smirnov techniques. The correlation obtained was -0.682 with a significance of 0.00 <0.05. Based on these results, it can be said that there is a negative relationship between social support and academic stress.
