Abstract

Wire embedding machine is the most important machine that produce passport cover electronic products. Wire embedding machine is used to process paper, wire, and chip that will later become semi-finished products in the form of inlays. Several times the machine cannot perform optimally due to several problems such as parts are damaged due to overuse, machine stops due to material variations, incorrect machine settings, etc.. So this research was conducted with the aim of knowing the productivity and effectiveness of the machine through the OEE value, and to find out the root cause of lack of performance or machine performance by using several QC Seven tools (Fishbone and Pareto Diagrams). This research was conducted using descriptive analysis method through field research. From the research conducted, the results obtained where the machine OEE value in the last 6 months is only 49.14% which is very far from the world class target.
