Abstract

Decline in sales of fishing bags by UD. Abadi Jaya reached 5% - 10%, so that by conducting preliminary research from the 10 customers interviewed, there were 9 customers who stated that the product was less attractive. So a redesign of the fishing bag is needed to meet customer needs. The research method used is Design For Assembly (DFA). The aim of this research is to redesign a fishing bag that is useful for increasing the functional value of the bag itself. From this research using the DFA method, namely the initial fishing bag design contained 15.5 constituent components with an assembly time of 99.3 seconds, in the multifunctional fishing bag design there were 25.5 constituent components with an assembly time of 160.5 seconds. The initial design efficiency value is 0.47 and for the proposed design it is 0.48.
