Relationship Between Self-Regulation and Dual Role Conflict in Organizational Students of FPIP at University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo

Some of activities that college students enrolled at the same time may lead to conflicts arising from the multiple roles a student must fulfill, such as the role of a student striving to complete their studies and the role of an organizational participant. This study aims to assess the relationship between self-regulation and role conflict among organizational students at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. The research employs a quantitative correlational method with a sample size of 169 students determined using the Krejcie-Morgan table. Accidental sampling is utilized in this research, and measurement tools are adopted from previous studies and adjusted to suit the research requirements. The data analysis, conducted using Spearman's rank correlation, reveals a significant negative relationship between self-regulation and role conflict (rho=-.452, p<.001). This outcome indicates that higher self-regulation among students corresponds to lower perceived conflict in carrying out dual roles as both students and organizational participants.
