Learning motivation is an important factor in learning activities because it can encourage students to be involved in learning activities. One of the factors considered important in increasing learning motivation is goal setting. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying goal setting on increasing student motivation at SMK X. The subjects of this study were 68 students in the treatment group, 34 students and in the control group, 34 students. This type of research uses a non-randomized control trial method with pretest & posttest control group design. The data collection technique uses the MSLQ adaptation scale with a reliability of 0.922. Data analysis techniques in this study used the Independent Sample T-Test and Paired Sample T-Test using the JASP 0.16 program. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the level of student motivation between the experimental group and the control group.
