Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of bagasse and tea as a planting medium on the growth and yield of red lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. var. crispa). The research was conducted in January March 2023. The experimental design in this study used the single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) method with a combination of planting media as a treatment consisting of 5 types, namely 100% soil; Soil 75% + bagasse 25%; Soil 75% + tea waste 25%; Soil 50% + bagasse 50%; 50% soil + 50% tea waste. The observed variables consisted of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh weight per plant, dry weight per plant, and harvest index. The results of the study, the combination treatment of tea dregs planting media in the 75% Soil + 25% tea dregs treatment produced the highest plants, plant fresh weight, and harvest index. red lettuce plant.
