Analysis of Reading Difficulies in Grade V Students
Analisis Kesulitan Membaca pada Siswa Kelas V

This study aims to analyze the difficulty of beginning reading and find out the inhibiting factors that influence the difficulty of beginning reading. This study used a qualitative method with the type of case study research in which the data were obtained from interviews, observation and documentation. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students at SDN Sidoharjo 02, Gedeg, Mojokerto. The results showed that there were students experiencing difficulties in beginning reading which included difficulty in reading words by removing or adding letters in words so that they could be read, difficulties in using and pronouncing some diphthongs and digraphs, and inability to read fluently or haltingly. In the difficulties experienced, there are factors that hinder students in developing initial reading skills. The first is the internal factor and the second factor is the external factor.
