Considering the importance of the teacher's learning model, this study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning (PBL) model on improving the poetry writing skills of fourth grade students at SD Negeri Jemirahan Kec. Jabon. The type of research used was a quiasi experiment, where the sample was taken non-randomly. Instruments for data collection are tests in the form of pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, homogeneity test, and t test. From the results of the research and discussion, the Independent Sample T-test test has a sig.(2-tailed) value of 0.002 <0.005 indicating that there was an increase that occurred after treatment using the problem-based learning model which was carried out in writing poetry in the experimental class. This shows that the results of the Sig t-test and t-count (4.388) are greater than t-table (2.052).
