The Correlation between Students Reading Habit and Students Reading Comprehension in Narrative Text

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how students' reading habits affect their ability to comprehend what they are reading. This research used quantitative research method, and the survey approach was used in this research, the researcher used questionnaire and test.  By delivering the questionnaire to the sample and conducting the test, the data will be gathered. SPSS will be used to evaluate the data. From the calculation the researcher concluded that there was no significant correlation between students’ reading habit and students’ reading comprehension, according to the result there are another factors that affected the correlation between students’ reading habit and students’ reading comprehension. The researcher suggest that the teacher or the school must make the literacy time, so that the students can improve their reading comprehension factors such as improve their critical thinking skills, vocabulary development, and also motivate their reading habit.
