Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine how students’ perception the use of roleplay techniques in speaking skills and whether students are interested in using roleplay techniques in speaking skills. This research involved 50 students from class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Taman. Data are collected through a questionnaire. Based on the research results, students' perceptions about the use of role-play techniques can be categorized as positive. Meanwhile, the results of student interest were 98,78 percent of their questionnaire answers. So, it can be concluded that students are interested in using role-play techniques in their speaking skills
