Abstract

Tjiwi Kimia is a paper industry company that operates 3 work shifts of the 2-2-2 cycle. As a result of the shift rotation and pressure from superiors and it causes decreased work concentration .  The Bourdon Wiersma method is used to measure fatigue [1] and the Nasa TLX method to measure mental load. The results of this research are fatigue of cartoon box production operators with the highest speed level for the morning shift is considered "Good enough", fatigue for the highest level of accuracy for the morning shift is considered "Doubtful" and fatigue for the highest level of consistency for the night shift is considered "Enough". Meanwhile, the highest mental burden for cartoon box production operators is the night shift in the “High” category. With these results it is recommended for companies to apply 3 work shifts and weekends off and provide a 15 minute coffee break.
