Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and academic burnout in SMA X students in Sidoarjo. This research uses a quantitative type with a correlational approach. The variables in this study are self-compassion as the independent variabele and academic burnout as the dependent variable. This research was conducted at SMA X in Sidoarjo with a total population of 250 students. The data collection technique uses a psychological scale, namely the self- compassion scale and the academic burnout scale, both of which are in the form of a Likert scale. The results of data analysis showed a correlation coeffiecient of -.370 with a significant level .000 <.05. thisa indiates that the hypothesis is accepted, which means that there is a relationship between self-compassion and academic burnout. The effect size on this varriable is -.370 which is relatively small.
