Abstract

Improving the ability to recognize numbers through the use of number pocket media for early childhood at TK Al-Islamiyah Teja Barat Pamekasan is a learning process that stimulates children's cognitive development in symbolic thinking. The purpose of this study is to enhance the ability to understand number concepts through number pocket media for early childhood learners. . Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The learning activity involved the teacher preparing educational tools such as number pockets, dice, and sticks, followed by a demonstration of how to play. Children were asked to throw the dice and place the corresponding number of sticks into the pockets based on the number shown. The results of observations and interviews showed improvements in the ability of children aged 4–5 years to recognize number concepts at TK Al-Islamiyah Teja Barat Pamekasan.
