This study examines the effects of inflation, economic growth, net lending/borrowing (NLB), general government final consumption expenditure (GGFCE), exports, and imports on tax revenue (tax-to-GDP ratio) across eight ASEAN countries during 2014–2022 (N=8, T=9; 72 observations). Model selection tests (Chow, Hausman, LM) indicate the Random Effects Model (REM, EGLS). Hypotheses are tested using two-sided t-tests at α=5%, with reporting focused on p-values and R². The results show that NLB, GGFCE, and imports are significant, while inflation, economic growth, and exports are not significant over the study period. The model exhibits moderate fit (R² ≈ 0.46; Adjusted R² ≈ 0.41). These findings highlight the importance of strengthening the fiscal position and improving the quality of government spending, alongside managing import-related impacts, to support a sustainable tax base.
