Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the phonics method as part of early literacy learning management in Islamic early childhood education at TKIT Insan Kamil Sidoarjo. This research focuses on teachers’ and children’s experiences, the effectiveness of phonics instruction, parental involvement, and challenges in managing phonics-based literacy learning. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation. The findings show that systematic and contextual phonics instruction enhances children’s phonological awareness, letter recognition, sound blending skills, and early reading readiness. The effectiveness of phonics learning is influenced by teachers’ pedagogical competence, instructional consistency, availability of learning resources, and parental involvement. This study concludes that effective management of phonics-based literacy learning requires structured planning, teacher capacity development, and strong collaboration between schools and families in Islamic early childhood education.
