The development of communication technology has transformed how people interact and access information, particularly among Millennials and Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the Instagram usage behavior of both generations in Kedungkendo Village and Tambak Kalisogo Digital Village, Sidoarjo Regency, using a qualitative descriptive approach. The results show that Generation Z tends to be more active and spontaneous in utilizing Reels, Stories, and Live Streaming features for self-expression and following digital trends, while Millennials are more selective in using Instagram, focusing on information seeking, business activities, and personal branding. This study contributes to a better understanding of how digital infrastructure affects generational differences in social media behavior, providing insights for social media developers, academics, and policymakers to strengthen digital literacy and inclusion in rural communities.
