This study explores the motives of male K-drama enthusiasts in using media, focusing on the @kdrama_menfess account and the rising popularity of Korean dramas. Guided by Uses and Gratifications theory, media needs are categorized into diversion, personal relationships, personal identity, and surveillance. The research adopts a qualitative design with a virtual ethnographic approach. Five male informants aged 19–25 participated. Data were gathered through online observation and in-depth interviews. According to Elihu Katz, audiences actively select media to satisfy specific needs. The findings reveal that diversion is the most dominant motive among the informants. Korean dramas function as entertainment, relaxation, and a way to fill leisure time. They also help reduce feelings of loneliness, particularly for participants living far from home. Moreover, K-dramas are used to manage stress during challenging periods, serving as a psychological coping tool that provides emotional comfort and escape from daily pressures.
