The Role of Public Relations in Strengthening Image through Strengthening Islamic Character of Students at Muhammadiyah 1 Junior High School in Sidoarjo

In the current educational context, the image of educational institutions is an important aspect that affects their reputation and level of public trust. This study aims to analyze the role of public relations in shaping the image of schools through strengthening the Islamic character of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach involving data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that public relations carries out its role in accordance with Rosady Ruslan's public relations role theory, namely as a communicator, relationship builder, management supporter, and institution image builder. The implementation of programs such as Ismuba For Student plays a role in strengthening student character, which has a positive impact on the school's reputation. The conclusion of the study shows that the public relations department of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo has carried out these four roles.
