Abstract

Communication is essential for building harmonious relations, trust, and order within organizations and workplaces. In this context, Public Relations (PR) plays a strategic role as a bridge between organizations and the public, requiring professionalism, integrity, and adherence to ethical standards, particularly the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) code of ethics. This study analyzes representations of IPRA ethical violations in the film My Stupid Boss Season 1 using Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic approach. The findings reveal violations of principles such as integrity, obedience, dialogue, openness, and professionalism, which create an authoritarian work environment. The film portrays leaders who harass employees, neglect responsibilities, and ignore employee welfare, illustrating how the absence of PR ethics can damage internal relations and organizational reputation.
