This qualitative descriptive study aims to explain the use of the traditional game Gobak Sodor as a meaningful and enjoyable learning medium at SD Negeri Gebang 1 Sidoarjo. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, the principal, and parents. The results show that Gobak Sodor is systematically integrated into thematic learning to engage cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Teachers utilise this game as an introductory medium, a means of critical thinking, and a reinforcement of lesson material. As a result, student motivation and cooperation have increased significantly, while academic pressure has decreased due to the creation of a relaxed learning environment. Beyond academic aspects, this play experience effectively instils character values such as sportsmanship, responsibility, and honesty. Overall, Gobak Sodor has proven to be a contextual learning medium that aligns with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and supports the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile.
