Abstract

The SSI-based science learning e-book is an interactive digital learning medium that links science materials with the issue of batik waste pollution in Jetis, Sidoarjo, as an introduction to learning. This e-book contains a variety of interactive learning activities, including issue analysis, evaluation, practice questions, reflection, quizzes, and final projects, designed to develop higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). The learning e-book features a simple navigation system, allowing students to access it easily through various digital devices. The material in this e-book aligns with the Phase D science curriculum, particularly on the topics of interactions among living beings and environmental pollution. The strength of this e-book lies in its use of the batik waste issue in Jetis, Sidoarjo, and its interactive presentation, which can enhance students' learning interest as well as their HOTS. Therefore, this SSI-based science e-book can serve as an effective supplementary learning resource in school science education.
