Ethno-STEM Science Education on Sidoarjo's Typical Foods for Junior High School Students' Science Literacy

Abstract

This study aims to find out how learning science through Etno-STEM based on Sidoarjo's local food affects students' science literacy skills. The data collection tool consists of 15 multiple-choice questions designed based on three science literacy indicators: explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting data and evidence scientifically. The results of the pre-test and post-test were analyzed using the N-Gain test and paired t-test to assess the level of improvement and the significance of the difference in students' science literacy abilities. These results were supported by a paired t-test with a significance value less than 0.05, which means that learning science through Etno-STEM based on Sidoarjo's local food has a significant impact on students' science literacy skills.
