Digital transformation in education has promoted hybrid learning models that integrate face-to-face and online instruction to enhance flexibility and learning quality. In the student exchange program between Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, this model is applied in the Ilmu Ma’ani course, which requires deep understanding of classical Arabic texts. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with exchange students and the course instructor, analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings show that hybrid learning improves access to learning resources, supports international collaboration, and offers learning flexibility. However, face-to-face instruction remains more effective for concept-based courses due to the importance of direct interaction. Technical issues, particularly internet connectivity, also affect student participation. Therefore, hybrid learning is best implemented as a complementary rather than primary instructional method.
