Abstract

This study aims to improve students interest in learning Arabic through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model among eighth grade students at MTs Al Ihsan Sungai Rumbai, Bengkulu. This study employed a Classroom Action Research approach using the Kurt Lewin model, which consists of : planning, acting, observing, reflecting, conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant increase in students interest in learning Arabic. The average percentage of students learning interest increased from 62% in pre-cycle, to 78% in first cycle, and 89% in the second cycle. These results indicate that the application of Project Based Learning effectively enhance students’ motivation and engagement in Arabic learning. The PjBL model fosters active participation, collaboration, and creativity among students. It is recommended as an effective strategy to increase learning interest in Arabic, especially in madrasah settings with limited facilities.
