Abstract

The phenomenon of Korean culture (Korean Wave) among Muslim teenage girls has had a significant impact on their religious behavior. This study aims to describe the experiences of Muslim teenage girls who are K-pop fans in combining their enthusiasm for popular culture with their religious identity, as well as to identify the challenges or value conflicts they face in their daily lives. This study uses a qualitative method with a Husserlian phenomenological approach (epoche), which focuses on a deep understanding of individual subjective experiences. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation from eight female students at PGRI 1 Sidoarjo High School who are K-pop fans. The results show that Muslim teenage girls are actively engaged in a reflective process to balance religious values with fandom activities, including self-control in cultural consumption and effective time management.
