Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Game-Based Learning (GBL) strategy using a spin wheel to enhance students’ motivation in learning Arabic at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Krian. Motivation is a key factor in language learning success, and innovative strategies are needed to maintain students’ engagement, especially at the elementary level. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach based on the Kurt Lewin model, implemented in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation, using a Likert scale to measure students’ motivation across four dimensions: persistence, interest, goal orientation, and response to learning methods. The findings showed an increase in motivation from 55% (moderate) to 68% (strong) in the first cycle, and 86% (very strong) in the second. These results indicate that the spin wheel-based GBL approach effectively increases students’ motivation.
