This study aims to analyze parenting patterns in developing the social-emotional aspects of children aged 4–5 years at Kemala Bhayangkari 99 Wage Kindergarten. Social-emotional development in early childhood plays a crucial role in shaping children’s ability to adapt, interact, show empathy, and regulate emotions in the future. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving students and parents. The findings revealed variations in parenting styles, including authoritarian, permissive, and democratic approaches. Authoritarian parenting tends to emphasize discipline through consequences, permissive parenting provides excessive freedom leading to weaker self-control, while democratic parenting encourages independence, responsibility, and open communication between parents and children. Overall, the social-emotional development of children at Kemala Bhayangkari 99 Wage Kindergarten was found to be positive, as reflected in their adaptability, self-confidence, discipline, empathy, and cooperation. These findings highlight the significant role of appropriate parenting in optimizing children’s social-emotional growth.
