Adversity Quotient is conceptualized as an individual’s capacity to confront and adapt to challenges or life difficulties. Within the context of students, this construct plays a crucial role in enabling them to cope with various everyday problems. This study employed a quantitative correlational design to examine the relationship between optimism and adversity quotient among junior high school students at SMP X. The research population comprised 201 students, from which a sample of 132 participants was drawn. Data were collected using an optimism scale (reliability coefficient = 0.778) and an adversity quotient scale (reliability coefficient = 0.853). The data were analyzed through Pearson’s product-moment correlation test using JASP 19.0 software. The findings revealed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.383, p < 0.05), indicating that higher levels of optimism are associated with greater adversity quotient among students.
