Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the reading ability of grade 1 primary school learners according to gender from various perspectives and current findings. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method involving 15 learners, of which 7 were male and the rest were female. While data collection techniques through tests, observations, and interviews. The analysis method used is thematic analysis. From the results of the research conducted on elementary school students, it was found that there were differences in the reading ability of elementary school students between male students and female students at SD Negeri 1 Sawahan, Donorojo District, Pacitan Regency. The results of the test showed that the average score of female students showed a higher number than boys. It can be interpreted that female students have better reading skills than male students, both in terms of fluency and literal comprehension. This ........elementary schools..
