Abstract

This study analyzes and controls the quality of masonry concrete paving tiles at PT Varia Usaha Beton using Seven Tools and Six Sigma with the DMAIC framework. Data from October–December 2023 recorded 1,951,533 pieces, with three Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics: cracks, chipping, and porosity. The highest defect rate occurred in November (1.2%), exceeding the company’s 1% standard, dominated by porosity (37%). Six Sigma results showed an average DPMO of 3,585.53 and a sigma level of 4.19, indicating the process has not yet reached zero defect. Fishbone analysis identified root causes from human, machine, material, method, measurement, and environmental aspects. Recommended improvements include SOP development, operator training, machine rejuvenation and maintenance, raw material quality control, and automation at critical points.
