Abstract

Liver damage due to toxic exposure, such as paracetamol overdose, can be characterized by changes in total bilirubin and serum albumin levels. This study aims to determine the effect of administering white turi bark extract (Sesbania grandiflora (L.) Pers.) on total bilirubin and albumin levels in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced by toxic doses of paracetamol. This type of research uses a quantitative experimental laboratory method with 28 white rats, there are seven groups of rats given different treatments, starting from KN (Normal Control), K- (Negative Control), K+1, K+2, P1 (Treatment 1), P2 (Treatment 2), P3 (Treatment 3). Turi bark was obtained from Balongbendo, Sidoarjo with extract doses of 500, 750, and 1000 mg/kgbb. These findings indicate that white turi bark extract can act as a hepatoprotective agent in overcoming liver damage due to paracetamol toxicity.
