This study aims to analyze elementary school teachers’ motivation in carrying out the teaching and learning process, particularly in Grade IV at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Candi, Sidoarjo. The research focuses on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and how these aspects contribute to teachers’ performance in the classroom. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, validated using method triangulation. The findings reveal that intrinsic motivation, including personal satisfaction, teaching spirit, and professionalism, is the dominant factor influencing teachers’ performance. This result is consistently reflected across all instruments—interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Teachers are primarily motivated by a sense of responsibility, dedication, and pride in their profession.
