The Relationship between Parent Satisfaction and Social Competence of Classroom Teachers in Elementary Schools

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between classroom teachers' social competence and parents' satisfaction in primary schools. Teachers' social competence includes the ability to communicate, interact effectively, and involve parents and the community in the learning process. The study used a quantitative correlational approach with Spearman Rank analysis technique, involving 15 parent respondents, as well as additional data from observations and internal school questionnaires to enrich qualitative information. The analysis showed a correlation coefficient of 0.280 (p = 0.285), indicating a positive but weak and insignificant relationship between teachers' social competence and parents' satisfaction. Descriptive analysis shows that teachers have good social competence, especially in classroom collaboration and communication with parents, but limited involvement in collaborative leadership, strategy evaluation, and active participation in professional organizations. Parents' satisfaction is more influenced by their direct experiences, such as personal communication, teachers' attention to children, and classroom services.
