Abstract

The widespread use of gadgets among Generation Alpha, born from 2010 onwards, has brought both positive and negative impacts. Excessive use in early childhood can trigger conditions such as Virtual Autism, Tech Neck Syndrome, Digital Eye Strain, and Internet Gaming Disorder. This study aims to design and develop a web-based expert system using the Forward Chaining method to detect early symptoms of these negative effects. The system allows parents or stakeholders to input observed symptoms, which are then analyzed to infer possible disorders. It also provides the percentage likelihood of each disorder and suggests recommended solutions for management. Testing shows that the system runs effectively and delivers accurate, useful information for detecting gadget-related health issues. With this expert system, parental awareness of the importance of monitoring gadget use in children can be improved, encouraging early preventive or corrective measures to minimize potential risks and support healthier digital habits.
