Abstract

The aim of this research is to see how effective the questions are in assessing students' knowledge and understanding of Indonesian language in the independent curriculum. Participants in the study were 5th   grade elementary school students. By using a question set and the method used is a qualitative method to determine the characteristics of each item. The results of this study indicate that the analysis of test items using the independent curriculum for most students answered strongly in agreement with the questionnaire containing the understanding of multiple-choice test items using the Merdeka Curriculum’s and also suggest improvements in the preparation of questions, by paying attention to writing rules,and improving the quality of validity, reliability, and the effectiveness of examiners so that measuring instruments are more representative to assess student competence according to the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum.
