Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the role playing method on the speaking skills of class IV students at SD Muhamdiyah 9 Ngaban. This type of research is experimental research, experimental design. The population in this study were all fourth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Ngaban. Data collection techniques included observation, tests and documentation. Observation is used to obtain data on learning implementation using the role-playing method. Meanwhile, the test was used to measure the speaking skills of fourth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Ngaban. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the results of a one-way paired samples t-test analysis (1-tailed) showing that there was a significant difference of p < 0.001. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the role playing method on the speaking skills of class IV students at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Ngaban.
