Design of an Android-Based Educational Game Introducing Indonesian Presidents and Vice Presidents

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in history, including the history of its Presidents and Vice Presidents since gaining independence in 1945. However, public interest and understanding of leadership history remain relatively low, highlighting the need for educational approaches that are engaging and easily accessible. Potential solution is the development of an educational game for Android using the Game Development Life Cycle method, which offers a systematic workflow, facilitates monitoring of each development phase, and enhances design efficiency. The educational game Jejak Pemimpin Bangsa was designed as a platformer genre, combining gameplay challenges with the presentation of historical content through information boards and quizzes. Alpha testing using the black box method showed that all features functioned as expected, while beta testing yielded a feasibility score of 88.93%, indicating that the game is suitable for play, easy to understand, and ready for release as an interactive and effective medium for learning history.
