Pre-eclampsia is a high-risk pregnancy complication that demands healthcare providers’ readiness. However, research on their perceptions, knowledge, attitudes, and practices remains limited. This study aimed to explore the perception and management of pre-eclampsia through a literature review. A scoping review design was applied following Arksey and O’Malley’s framework, with data sourced from PubMed, Springer, ScienceDirect, and EBSCOhost (2019–2024). Eligible studies included both quantitative and qualitative research in English and Indonesian, selected using the PRISMA flow and analyzed descriptively. Out of 314 articles, only six met the inclusion criteria. Findings indicated that healthcare providers’ perceptions of pre-eclampsia in Africa varied, influenced by knowledge, experience, and training, which in turn affected management quality. Overall, perceptions remain relatively low, although management practices show a positive trend. These findings highlight the need for targeted training and resource support to improve pre-eclampsia care.
